I have been telling clients this for a while. The lipid hypothesis is on the way out, and I believe over time this will be common knowledge. Saturated fats are commonly blamed for artery problems and heart disease as I am sure you have heard. But if we look at what LDL does in this situation is merely move cholesterol to a damaged site. Eating saturated fats and raising your LDL level does not equate to heart disease. What causes LDL to be moved to a damaged site is inflammation, often caused by diet. Inflammatory things in the American diet consist primarily of carbohydtrates, wheat products and gluten. I believe that over time a link will be proven to this rather than saturated fats, which are known to help testosterone production, healthy skin, hair, nails and countless other bodily functions.
